1. Agreement to terms
By accessing or using the services branded as “Extenshi” (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Operator of the services
The Services are operated by Maksim Kosterin, a self-employed individual (autónomo / sole trader) registered in Spain.
- NIE: Z2447446K
- Address: Calle de Alboraya 61, 46010, Valencia, Spain
- Email: [email protected]
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. You must have legal capacity to enter into these Terms. Paid features may require you to be 18+ depending on your jurisdiction.
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
5. The services
Extenshi provides:
- a public catalog of browser extensions and related metadata,
- a blog with articles, guides, and news related to browser extensions and the platform,
- optional authenticated features (including dashboards, advanced insights, and device sync),
- a desktop application (“Extenshi”) that may help manage extensions across supported browsers,
- an optional companion browser extension (“Extenshi Monitor”) that observes network destinations of installed extensions and enables site-based extension management rules, operating locally on your device.
- an optional command-line tool (the “Extenshi CLI”) that lets extension developers upload an extension package to our scanning service for automated pre-publish security analysis, using API keys and prepaid scan credits.
- optional developer growth tools that let a verified extension author configure an Extenshi-hosted uninstall-feedback survey and a welcome / onboarding page for their own extension, which collect feedback and install analytics from that extension's end users.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
Developer growth tools: If you configure an Extenshi-hosted uninstall-feedback survey or welcome page for an extension you have verified ownership of, you collect data from your own end users through that page. You act as the data controller for that data, and Extenshi hosts the page and processes submissions on your behalf. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and for providing any privacy notice your end users are entitled to under applicable law. You must not use these tools to collect data unlawfully or for extensions you do not own.
6. Public catalog and third-party stores
The catalog may include information sourced from publicly available pages, APIs, and materials provided by third parties (e.g., browser extension stores). We are not affiliated with Google, Mozilla, Microsoft, or any browser vendor unless expressly stated.
User reviews: Where the catalog displays user reviews, they are third-party user-generated content that remains the property of their authors and the originating store. Firefox and Edge reviews are shown as short excerpts linking to the store; for Chrome listings we show only the aggregate rating and count. We do not publish reviewer identities. See the Extension Data Disclaimer for details and removal options.
Third-party names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Chrome, Firefox, and Edge are trademarks of their respective owners. extenshi.io is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, Mozilla, or Microsoft Corporation. Browser store logos displayed on this site are used solely to identify the originating store and are sourced from the alrra/browser-logos repository (MIT license). Such use does not imply any sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation.
Historical Data: The catalog may include historical data obtained from public web archives (such as CommonCrawl WARC files). This data represents snapshots of extension store pages at past points in time and may not reflect current information.
7. Third-party links and websites
The catalog automatically mirrors publicly available metadata from third-party extension stores. That metadata frequently includes links to external websites operated by extension authors or other third parties (for example an extension’s “homepage” or support URL, an author’s declared privacy policy, terms, or contact site, and links contained in store descriptions).
These external sites are not part of the Services and are not under our control. Extenshi does not control, operate, monitor, review, endorse, sponsor, or assume responsibility for the content, accuracy, legality, security, or practices of any third-party website reachable from the catalog. The presence of a link is a reproduction of public store data, not a recommendation, endorsement, or assurance of any kind. Automated mirroring of store data does not imply that Extenshi has visited, vetted, or approves of any linked destination.
Following any external link is entirely at your own risk, and any dealings you have with a third-party site are solely between you and that third party. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policy of any external site you visit. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Extenshi is not liable for any loss or harm arising from your access to, or reliance on, any third-party website or its content, and the Disclaimers and Limitation of liability sections below apply fully to third-party links.
We may, at our sole discretion and without obligation, remove, disable, rewrite, or annotate any outbound link — for example, where automated signals indicate that a linked site distributes gambling, malware, or other harmful or unlawful content, we may disable the link and display the destination as plain, non-clickable text with a warning. If you believe a link in the catalog points to harmful or unlawful content, please report it via our Content removal & takedown policy so we can review and act on it.
8. Automated data processing
The Services rely on automated data processing pipelines that continuously collect, parse, analyze, and store extension data. You acknowledge that:
- data is processed automatically without manual review of every item,
- automated systems may produce errors, omissions, or inaccuracies,
- processing schedules, retry mechanisms, and data freshness may vary,
- extensions may be assigned internal statuses (e.g., active, failed, quarantined) that reflect pipeline processing state, not official extension status,
- extension packages may be downloaded and stored for the purpose of automated security analysis, and raw scanner output may be retained alongside structured findings,
- safety scores and assessments are computed algorithmically (as 100 minus a weighted findings score) and are subject to change as our methodologies evolve.
9. Security insights disclaimer
Security findings, safety scores, and analyses are automated and provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute a professional security audit, legal advice, or a guarantee that an extension is safe or unsafe. The safety score is presented as a coefficient between 0 and 100 (100 minus the weighted findings score); a higher number means fewer or less severe findings, not proof that an extension is safe. You remain responsible for decisions you make based on information provided by the Services.
Security scanning is performed using multiple automated tools and heuristics (including but not limited to static analysis, malware detection, and JavaScript behavior analysis). Safety assessments are computed using weighted algorithms across scanner results and may change as scanning tools, weights, or methodologies are updated. Results may vary over time. For full details, see our Security & Risk Disclaimer.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Services for unlawful purposes,
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data,
- interfere with or disrupt the Services or infrastructure,
- use the Services to upload malware or conduct unauthorized security testing,
- harass, defame, or infringe the rights of others.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
11. Subscriptions, billing, and taxes
If you purchase a subscription or paid features:
- fees, billing cycles, and renewal terms will be disclosed at checkout,
- payments are processed by third-party payment providers,
- you are responsible for applicable taxes where required by law.
Prepaid scan credits (Extenshi CLI): Some paid features, such as the Extenshi CLI, are offered as one-time purchases of prepaid scan credits rather than recurring subscriptions. A credit is consumed when a scan starts and is automatically refunded to your balance if the scan fails. Prices per credit pack are disclosed at checkout.
Consumer rights: Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason, in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To exercise this right, contact us at [email protected] with a clear statement of your decision to withdraw.
Exception for digital content: By purchasing a subscription and accessing digital content immediately, you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been fully provided, provided that you gave your prior express consent and acknowledged the loss of your withdrawal right at the time of purchase.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. After cancellation, you retain access until the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.
12. Intellectual property
We (and our licensors) own all rights in the Services, including software, design, and original content, except third-party content and extension metadata owned by their respective owners.
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for personal or internal business purposes.
13. Feedback
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a non-exclusive right to use them to operate and improve the Services, without obligation to compensate you.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if required for safety or legal reasons.
15. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EXTENSHI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL.
IN NO EVENT WILL TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR €100 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID ANY AMOUNTS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
17. Indemnification (business users)
If you use the Services on behalf of a business, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Services or violation of these Terms.
18. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer in the EEA/UK, you may also benefit from mandatory protections under the laws of your country of residence.
Venue: courts of Valencia, Spain, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
